Buffalo Bicycling Club
What: These events are designed so young people with any sort of bike can come and ride on a safe off road course and have fun while getting healthy exercise outdoors. These rides use courses that are fun, safe and offer an age-appropriate level of challenge for young riders.
Beyond a working bike and helmet, no special equipment or training is required. These are family events, so bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a free hot dog.
Schedule for 2012-Note different start times
July 8 -West Falls Town Park (AKA JP Nicely Park) 10:30am start, register 9:30. Corner of West Falls and Reading road, use 525 West Falls Rd 14170 to get to school next door, park is adjacent. BBQ and Hike to creek after race. Playground on site, fun trails for kids.
July 29 – Chestnut Ridge County Park. 10:30 am start,register 9:30. 6121 Chestnut Ridge Road | Orchard Park, NY 14127. We will be using the orienteering trails near shelter 9A, proceed past main casino building for about 500m, cross a bridge and look to your right for a sign. Family bike-hike to 100 steps after the races. This park has everything, a great family day, hit the eternal flame off Seifert rd on the way home for a family hike.
July 19 and August 16-Youth nights at the Cobblestone Criteriums. Perry and chicago streets. Sign on 5:30.
August 25 – Sprague Brook Park 3:30pm start,register 2pm. This event will take place on trails by the sledding hill. Come camp for the weekend on site, lots to do on site. Located 9674 Foote Rd | Glenwood, NY14069
August 26 –Sprague Brook Park - For the older and more experienced riders, come back and try the Single Track Stampede event
September 15 - Sprague Brook Park Noon start, register any time after 10. This event is part of the Baer and Associates Cyclocross event, youth rides on a special course,indoor facilities, lots to do in this great park.
