2013 Under 18 Developmental Bicycle Racing ProgramAre you interested in learning to race your bicycle, have fun and get in great shape? The Buffalo Bicycle Club has a special program featuring weekly training events in Western New York with experienced instructors, opportunities for group rides and a team just for riders under 18.The BBC Developmental Program is for riders of ages 14-18. We will help you get started with the sport and provide development, technical assistance and local opportunities for safe, supervised competition and training. For riders who wish to travel to larger events, we will offer help with travel expenses.What do I need?Riders need a working road bicycle that stops and goes and shifts gears. A helmet is required for all racing and training, it needs to fit and be in good condition. Riders need clothes to stay warm in the wet, cold and windy conditions we encounter during the season (April-November).A parent needs to sign a waiver of consent before each race.Cost:Come try a race or two - it's free! Riders may continue to participate in club races by simply joining the club (also free for juniors) and paying $5 per race. Those wishing to join the racing team may do so for $100. Riders get a racing uniform, entry in all club training races and a United States Cycling racing license. The total value of the program is over $500 per rider.Schedule:
