The BBC has an open date, Sunday, 20 May, so come out to Westwood Park in Lancaster, NY, at 9am, for Tom's Pro Bike annual Spring 50. Choose between a 25 or 50 mile, on-course supported, ride; where your registration fee goes to benefit the Lancaster Heritage Bicycle Trail. When you have completed the ride, enjoy a picnic lunch at Westwood Park. Register before 13 May, and all of this fun and benevolence can be yours for $20. As of this writing Monday, April 9th we have had nobody step up to marshall the event on Sunday at Corfu April 15th. We are in need of 6 marshalls in order to proceed with this event in a safe manner. I have no intention of cancelling this event. If it gets to the point that we don't have the 6 required marshalls, I will then have no other recourse than to ask riders to volunteer day of. A hearty bunch of riders showed up today for the BBC's first event of the season. Unexpected bad weather greeted the group upon arrival but all riders pressed on and gave everything they had. Today Tim Williams, both a true friend and Vice President of the BBC underwent a double hip replacement surgery. Always willing to give a hand Tim is a rock solid supporter of all that is cycling in our region. The BBC would like to wish Tim a healthy and speedy recovery. After a few days in hospital, Tim will be in physical therapy for 2-4 weeks at The Greenfield Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster.
